A cool soundbite...
One annual fringe-goer said, "It's the most intelligent show at the Fringe!" Thank you English gent from Bristol.
Top Joke at The Fringe
Hey look!
Jeff's got one of the top 10 funniest jokes at the Fringe.
Didn't even know he was in the running, or would've made everyone vote. Oh well, they got the ending wrong anyhoo...
Cool for me.
p.s. so close to the finish line...

"The Americans" gets press, too
"The cast are all very good... the story is an entertaining one and there are a lot of very funny moments as the family take us through recent American history... This is the show to see especially if you’re a fan of programmes such as The Daily Show." - The Groggy Squirrel
"... smart observations about our thirst for technology, and an excellent send-up..." - Fest Magazine

Bragging time...
Kate Copstick is considered the Ben Brantley of comedy critics here in the UK... which is really the only place they care enough about the art to critique it, so... do the math.
Here's what she had to say about Jeff's show in today's Scotsman:
"Jeff Kreisler is a heavy hitter – he has won the Bill Hicks Spirit Award and looks like George Clooney, but sweatier. His hour holds some of the smartest political material around. One of the things that makes Kreisler fascinating is his unashamed love for America; he just hates what has been done to it. The final section, involving Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney and Rohypnol may be the most powerful description of the past few years of US history you'll hear....
"... slick, political sharp-shooting..."
Thanks Kate.

Pick up today's Scotsman...
... and open it to the middle.
That's Kreisler! Big pic, nice article, fold right at the crotch.

Kreisler review...
"With the excitement of an impending presidential election, it's a great time to see an American political comic, and you'll struggle to find better than Jeff Kreisler. With slick and witty poise he mixes wry observation on current affairs with quirky bouts of surrealism to create a politically charged set, without a hint of the pedagogical habits that can so often be the downside of political stand-up....
"The most commendable thing about Kreisler is that his routine - even his George W. Bush stuff - manages to feel new and fresh in an area of comedy overrun with formulaic material."
- * * * * Three Weeks
Take that.

Review for The Americans
"With something of the irreverence of American Dad and the borderline slapstick of Mr Show, the three Americans don't just represent the stereotypical US family, they are ciphers for the competing claims on the nation's future....
"Daily Show-style satirical... The Americans succeeds in being a colourful and engaging portrait of our stateside cousins."
- The Metro

A rainy day...
BUT, still had a kick-ass show. Bob, a gentleman from Fairfax Co., Virginia stopped me after our show to say, "simply fantastic, a wonderful show. Keep up the good work!" - AT

Here be the wee online version of our piece on BBC 1 and BBC America:

Sorry, no embed video, you'll have to click a link.
Also, they ignored my McCain jokes.
Also, I'm much more sweaty than I appear.... but the ladies look fine, so that's okay.

SET YOUR TIVOS
Set your Tivos in America to FRIDAY, AUG 1, 7pm EST, 4pm PST on BBC AMERICA for their World News Hour. There should be segment on the Edinburgh Fringe, hopefully featuring some footage of Jeff's act and our show. No guarantees but the shoot went well, so fingers crossed!

We're a SUCCESS!!
Okay, maybe it's a little early to say that, but our first show was a SUCCESS! Big sized house, lots of laughs, including lots of new ones we didn't get in the States. Rock on. -AM
Favorite quote heard while flyering
Anna: "The Americans, live family sit-com at three today."
Guy: "Oh good! We hate the Americans!"
But then later he says, "Nah, we don't really hate the Americans. We like Americans."
Aww... how sweet.

Schizo weather & no sleep...
I have a sneaking suspicion that those will be the recurring themes of our month long extravaganza! - AT

We've arrived!!!
After a 6 hour delay, we finally made it to Edinburgh! We threw our bags down after hauling them up 3 treacherous flights of stairs and headed off to our venue. (We had literally 5 minutes remaining of our 1st tech rehearsal, eeeek!) We're now situated and awaiting our midnight tech...

Off to a Good Start
So we're stranded in the Newark Airport. Flight delayed until 2 a.m.
The good news we've already befriended another America-themed show, Queen of Wyoming, whose folks are quite hilarious.
Jeff has just returned from Hudson News with a stapled sleep pillow, which is his punishment for removing Anna's tag. It's a long story.
